President-elect Barack Obama is spending the Christmas holiday Hawaii – relaxing in the sun, playing golf and eating Spam.

On Sunday afternoon, while playing golf with friends at Oahu`s Olomana Golf Links, Obama, 47, who grew up on the island, stopped at a snack bar and bought two hot dogs, soft drinks and two orders of a local luncheon specialty called spam musubi – Spam and a fried egg on a bed of rice, held together with a strip of dried seaweed, according to reporters covering his trip.

The snack bar clerk later told the New York Time`s Jeff Zeleny the president-elect`s tab came to $17.75.

Asked how his game was going, Obama answered with a smile, “I`m not that good.” He also invited reporters to order a beer and put it on his tab, but none took him up on the offer.

Taking a break from assembling his cabinet, the president-elect took his two girls, Malia and Sasha to a nursery near their home on Chicago’s South Side where they picked out their tree for this year.

Pamela Anderson wants cannabis laws to be relaxed.

The actress made the request in an open letter to new US President Barack Obama, 47, which was posted on her blog.

‘Dear Mr Obama,’ she writes. ‘I think we should legalise marijuana. We should be able to farm hemp in America.’

And Pamela, 41, who is a vegetarian, issued further policy demands.

‘Bring our troops home safely. Please shut down Guantanamo Bay – figure it out,’ she writes.

‘Why do we have illegal immigration? It should be made easier for people to work here.

‘Government must castrate every molester – or potential molester – error [sic] on the safe side.’

As Barack Obama’s inauguration draws closer, all eyes are on potential performers for the big event. If they’re looking for volunteers, Beyoncé Knowles will happily raise her hand!

“I know I’ll definitely be there [at the swearing in],” she told reporters at a Gotham magazine event in New York Tuesday night. “I want to be there to witness it.”

As for performing, she added, “Of course I’d love to. Who wouldn’t?”
